Vulnerability, poverty and lack of food security are major challenges hindering the economic advancement of many developing and under-developed countries. Similarly, the government disburse a huge amount in combatting the risks caused by these challenges. The combined efforts of public and private institutions in tackling vulnerability and poverty may fail as a result of errors relating to the lack of providing appropriate data and information about the risks associated with these challenges and the potential damage to the rural communities in particular and the country at large. There are many ways to assess risks and poverty considering the context and availability of resources. The problem of bias and statistical errors constitutes formidable barriers to making an ideal analysis of poverty incidence and vulnerability.
