The health statistics of Nigeria indicates that the country is relatively underperforming in ensuring adequate healthcare service for the people. Despite decades of efforts to overcome this endemic challenge and improve quality and safety in healthcare sector, frequent reports of medical errors, failures to implement evidence-based practice, unnecessary variations and disparities in care, and redundancy and mismanagement of resources make achieving this goal increasingly difficult. Policymakers understand the essence of quality healthcare as a key to maintain, develop, and sustain comprehensive healthcare services, hence the reason for investing in the national health insurance scheme and other health programmes.
This study tour is designed to equip participants with skills in strategic leadership, management and administration of healthcare organizations to enhance desired results and ensure quality assurance. Participants will also be exposed to technical skills needed to analyze health care requirements, audit the protocols for compliance, and institute performance improvement plans.
